Focusrite was founded in 1985 but the legendary Rupert Neve with the goal of making gear that sounded “musical” and not just gear that tested well or had good specs. The original Focusrite Forte console was and still is revered as one of the best consoles of all time. The Red series and the ISA series are direct descendents of this console and based on its circuitry. The ISA-428 is a fantastic buy for a 4 channel Rupert Neve designed pre amp. The Red series of pres are a staple in nearly all professional recording facilities. They have lower priced models such as the green series and the platinum series as well.
